A WARRIOR GOD

There has never been a day like it before or since,
a day when the Lord listened to a human being.
Surely the Lord was fighting for Israel!
Joshua 10:14

Prayer reflects a beautiful relationship with God.  It exposes a deep abiding trust that accepts God’s plan before our own.  It views His answers as perfect in love, though not always what we asked for.  In time God uses our prayers to help us grow and change, enabling us to acknowledge that He knows our greatest need and the needs of those for whom we are praying.

The prayer of a righteous man does have a powerful effect – a prayer that seeks His will to be done.  Praying according to His will isn’t always easy for we humanly want human answers.  Even Christ revealed that struggle as He knelt in the Garden of Gethsemane.  But resting in the promise of peace, joy, and love of Jesus’ ultimate decision, we can be assured that He is always with us – even when the waiting is painful and the prayers apparently seem unheard.  With eyes focused on His heart and trusting in His wisdom and guidance, we know the Father is listening and is fighting for us, for it is accomplished in Jesus’ name and for His sake.

Prayer:  Dear Jesus, thank You for interceding for me on my behalf, knowing the good, pleasing, and perfect will of our Father is being accomplished.  Open my heart and mind to know that in all things:  Thy will be done!  Amen.
