Life can knock us to our knees in grief and sorrow. Events that we hoped would be joyful and exciting change instantly as loved ones die unexpectedly. Jobs are lost, or we are passed over for promotions. Like a winter storm, we are blasted with pain, rejection, or betrayal. Shivering in our boots we wonder if we will ever again see past the pain and view God’s grace and mercy in the “whiteout” before our eyes.
Yet Scripture tells us that our hope rests in the One who entered the inner sanctuary, walking us through the blurring effects of our blinding circumstances. In time the fulfillment of our hope entered the inner sanctuary in heaven.
The certainty of God’s promise was to send a Redeemer, a Savior. The certainty of our hope rested in the price paid for our salvation, a promise that was and is firm and secure. That certainty is the great “I AM,” Christ Jesus Himself. Forever He is the anchor for the soul like a ship’s anchor that holds secure in even the fiercest storms.
The message is secure.
The promise is secure.
The cross is secure.
The redemption is secure.
The resurrection is secure.
We are secure because we are in Him.
Therein lies our hope, even in the fiercest of storms.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank You that You are the message, the promise, the cross, the redemption, and the resurrection. We are secure in You even during the fiercest of storms. Amen.
