My times are in your hands.
Scrambling about in a daily furor, there never seems to be enough seconds, minutes, and hours to accomplish all that needs to be done. Rising early in the morning and pushing the limits of endurance late into the night, mankind can’t seem to overcome the need to scratch off the long list of daily responsibilities. Gradually the push to create more time for work forces out the need for physical rest and spiritual renewal. We cry out, “There are just so many things to do and so little time to do it.”
Time is a precious commodity. The number of seconds, minutes, and hours do not change. Time is not ours to produce; it is only ours to use wisely. Taking time to spend in God’s Word, we begin to realize how critical it is to seek His face always and to trust Him throughout our day. Surrendering our time into His hands, we discover that work placed in the redemptive hands of Jesus allows for His time of rest and renewal. In so doing, He will enable us to use our time for His glory, not ours.
Father, there is so much to do and so little time to do it. Help me to realize that the seconds, minutes, and hours I spend with You only enhances the work yet to be done. Amen.
