It’s not what we have done for our Lord that makes us special, but what He has done for us. It’s not what we do that matters in our lives; it’s what He does through us. It’s His presence and love revealed in our day to day walk with Him. Seeking Him first in His Word with all our hearts and minds, He refreshes us with a hope that no man can truly understand. In that search, He spiritually hugs us with His unfailing love heard in His Word and tasted in His Supper.
The most exciting part is that as we learn to fear Him and put our hope in His unfailing love, the Lord delights in us as He makes us and keeps us His children. As our Lord pours out His Holy Spirit upon us in Word and Sacrament, He rejoices over us with singing (Zephaniah 3:17). He delights in every second, every minute that we spend with Him. Whether listening to the pleas from a torn heart or the moments of elation as a result of exciting highlights in our lives, He rejoices. We are His and in that alone He sings. He delights because we are covered by the blood of the Lamb, His Son. And that is worth celebrating!
Prayer: Dear Father, thank You for giving Your Son’s covering of grace to me. Help me acknowledge Your unfailing love for that is what truly covers me. Amen.
