the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
On my wall is a collage of pictures portraying the nativity. Each picture leads to the final artist’s rendering of Jesus looking upward and praying. The quote of the entire collage sums it all: “From the beginning, it was always the story of a Father and a Son.”
Hebrews 1:3 shares the reality of that quote: The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being. Not one moment of Christ’s earthly life was separate from His Father’s glory and grace. Coming down from the Father, Jesus was the perfect picture of all that He had seen and been a part of throughout eternity. Radiant with an unexpected power and presence, those who believed in Him knew Him as unusual and different – completely human yet completely divine. Drawn to His attractive love, they gave everything they could to honor and praise Him.
In our lives today, we too can honor and praise Him for the attractive love revealed in His Word. Knowing His story would always be of the Father and a Son, we can embrace the thought that it was His plan all along to redeem and save us.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank You for becoming flesh for me and for surrendering Your will to the Father as an example for me to follow. Amen.
