For those of us who have the gift of sight, the wonders and beauty of God’s creation are visually inspiring to us. Whether it be the grandeur of the mountains, the foaming waves upon the shore, or the sunrises in the morning, our eyes are enabled to embrace it. Yet for those without sight, the wonders and beauty of God’s creation are hidden from view.
There is, however, one beauty that cannot be taken from anyone of us, even if the physical eyes are unable to see. That beauty resides only in the revelations of God as seen through the pages of His Word. Through spiritual eyes we view His gifts of grace and mercy. With these eyes wide open, He reveals the incredible sacrifice Christ paid for our freedom, purchased and won on the cross as a result of His deep abiding love for us. While our questioning eyes cannot always comprehend the purpose of circumstances in our lives, the eyes of the Spirit use the inspired Word of God to strengthen, support, and comfort us in our weaknesses and confusion. And using His spiritual eyes as we study the Scriptures, our eyes will be opened to see wonderful things in His Law.
Prayer: Father, thank You for Your Word, the means of Your revealing grace. What a truly amazing gift. Amen.
