His death wasn’t expected. Although a prolonged illness preceded it, hope of his recovery always stood at the forefront. In the throes of the difficulties, a move to a new location also came into the picture. Yet in a miraculous way, the details and persons needed filed past in perfect order and simplicity. No human could have planned it. Only a divine Lord and Savior, concerned for the family’s welfare, could have mapped it all out. God’s grace, mercy, and comfort was theirs.
Challenges in this life are not thrown at us without the knowledge of a loving heavenly Father. Grief is a mountain of heartbreak weighing down on the very fiber of our being. Yet we are His personal workmanship, covered and molded by the blood of His Son. Prepared in advance and in His time, He uses the bruised and scarred souls to reach out to others, comforting them and supporting them in their times of grief. The pain is not wasted. His grace is sufficient.
Dear Father, when grief and sorrow fill my soul, I am so thankful that You take my broken heart and fill it with Your presence. Repair me and use me in a manner as only You can. In Jesus’ name and for His sake, I ask it. Amen.
