Prism

The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it,
for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
The nations will walk by its light,
and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it.
Revelation 21:23-24

A prism separates the various colorful spectrums of light.  While it can be viewed with a hand-held prism, God also displays its effects in rainbows and through bubbles that dance upon soapy waters.  The beauty seen puts us in awe as the colors come into full view.

A colorful spectrum of God’s light can also be seen through the landscape of the human race.  Seeing the glistening view of God’s love in the colors of each tribe and nation, God reveals His design and purpose for the cross.  Jesus is the Savior of all nations.  Someday in the glories of heaven, we will see with our eyes that He is the Unifier of the wide spectrum of peoples by His death and resurrection.  There all the colors will reveal a splendor only He could have planned.  Jesus, the Lamb, will expose this spectrum of light that reveals His love for all children, no matter whether red or yellow, black or white.

Prayer:  Dear Father, when viewing others through Your eyes, may we see Your splendor revealed in the colors of skin as seen through the eyes of Your Son, Jesus.  In His name, we ask this.  Amen.
