to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night.
Trucks splashed copious amounts of water on my windshield as they passed by. In addition, the dropping temperatures became more and more of a concern. With shaky hands on the wheel and a tightening in my neck and shoulders, I wondered – “Would this ever end?”
Surely this wasn’t the best time to praise the Lord or make music to His name. Or was it? Life has a way of dropping conditions onto us that threaten to freeze us in place and pound our hearts and minds with fears and concerns. Like watching trucks splash water on our windshields, blinding our way, we look forward to the end of its passing and hope for a rainbow at the end.
God never said the road we travel would be easy but He did send a Son who could understand the threatening roads before us. Although our journey will never compare with His or the results of the hardship as cruel and devastating, yet we are assured of His love and faithfulness. In Him we receive the joy of knowing He understands and the comfort of His strength and wisdom.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank You for being with us in our sometimes treacherous journeys. May they serve to remind us that You truly are worthy of our thanksgiving and praise. Amen.
