I will counsel you and watch over you.
A friend once told me, “I wish God would tell me what to do. Maybe He just needs to hit me over the head with a hammer.” We want answers, yet He appears to remain silent. We desire His will to be done, yet want the path laid out clearly and plainly - NOW. When it is not, we cry out for a drastic way to understand and move forward. We want the hammer to strike so we can fully grasp His wisdom and guidance – and as soon as possible.
God’s plan is always best and at just the right time. The best example of that is located in Romans 5:6: You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. The time was right for the Father to send His Son. The time was right to grant us reconciliation. The time was right for Him to demonstrate His love for us through the cross. And as we are centered in His Word, the time will be right to reveal His love to us as He instructs, teaches, counsels and watches over us – one day at a time. We simply trust His faithfulness.
Prayer: Dear Father, give me the faith to believe that you will grant me Your wisdom and guidance at just the right time. In Jesus’ name, I ask this. Amen.
