are being transformed into his likeness, with ever-increasing glory.
2 Corinthians 3:18
Looking in the mirror, I cannot help but desire a complete transformation of what I see. With circles under the eyes, wrinkles developing, and glasses that dominate my face, I wonder what changes will take place over the next ten to twenty years. Not a pleasant thought, to say the least. Yet in those moments, I need to remind myself that it is more important to view the external through God’s eyes and desire more fully the internal transformation created through His Holy Spirit.
Looking down upon us from above, the Father knew these changes in our lives would take place over the years. He not only expected it but was thrilled by it. In His eyes it is not the outward flaws that He sees. He views the blood of the covenant that covers us and it is beautiful beyond description. It is the radiance of His Son that is reflected in and through us. God sees no circles, no wrinkles, no glasses. He only beholds Christ’s love that forgives us and lives within and transforms us. The best part – it continues and ever-increases – both now and into eternity.
Dear Jesus, thank You for giving me Your reflection. Help me not to dwell on physical appearances but rather to thank You for Your presence within. For Your sake I ask this. Amen.
