![]() Getting to Know the LWML |
Did you know? The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is the official women's auxiliary of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Through LMWL, women of all ages are using their God-given talents to share the Gospel message and work in many different ways to "serve the Lord with gladness." Individual women, working together, make a difference in God's world. And Friends Into Serving Him: Teen LWML is a way to involve girls in the vision and ministry of service in Christ's name. |
Did you know?LWML is also known as Lutheran Women in Mission. A primary emphasis of the LWML is the support of mission and ministry throughout the world by means of mite box offerings. These mite box offerings have funded tens of millions of dollars in mission grants since the founding of LMWL in 1942. The goal of the LWML is Mission Education, Mission Inspiration, Mission Service, and Financial grants for Mission Needs. And it's the women of the LWML who decide who receives mission grant monies and the financial challenges they'll achieve. Girls participating in Friends Into Serving Him decide on their own service projects, meeting dates, and fellowship activities. |
Did you know? The motto of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) comes from Psalm 100:2. "Serve the Lord with gladness." Many women take this to heart every day, and every woman's service counts! Forty districts from across the United States form our national LWML, and 30 zones across our state make up the LWML Texas District. Each zone is comprised of societies from LCMS churches in the area. Who make up these societies? Young, single and married women, teenagers, experienced women, moms, aunts, grandmothers, career women, full-time moms, and many woman in-between. You or your teen could join LWML (or Teen LWML). A mind for mission and sight for service qualifies YOU for membership! |
