The Table of Los Fresnos Mission Outreach

This mission grant will assist The Table of Los Fresnos Lutheran Church with purchasing a step van, chairs, and tables. These will be used to increase The Table’s impact by giving mobility to its gatherings and outreach mission to reach people in the Rio Grande Valley with the Good News of Jesus.

Gracious Lord, in Your earthly ministry You met people in the marketplace and on the hillside where You fed them with Your Word and with loaves and fish. Many people in the Rio Grande Valley are lost and scattered, like sheep without a shepherd. We pray Your blessing on the mission efforts of The Table of Los Fresnos as they carry Your Word and Sacraments through meaningful service to the de-churched and unchurched in their community, offering food, clean-ups, and fix-ups. May the step van, tables, and chairs they will purchase with this mission grant multiply their ministry to seek and restore their neighbors to Your kingdom. We pray in Your name, Lord Jesus. Amen.

Mission Grant Spotlight — Paying It Forward

The Table of Los Fresnos Lutheran Church partnered with area shelters to provide Thanksgiving dinners on Thanksgiving Day to refugees in 2018 and 2019.

The Table of Los Fresnos Lutheran Church frequently holds its Word and Sacrament Sunday gathering outdoors at one of the pavilions in Los Fresnos’ numerous parks.

In the summer of 2020, The Table of Los Fresnos Lutheran Church began organizing the distribution of free #FarmersToFamilies food boxes in Los Fresnos. Over the past 2 years, local businesses, churches, the school district, and other community leaders have jumped in to help. Thousands of families in need have been served.

Since 2018, The Table of Los Fresnos Lutheran Church has served thousands of Los Fresnos families through Orphan Grain Train.

The Table of Los Fresnos Lutheran Church sponsored Vacation Bible Schools at The Los Fresnos Boys and Girls Club in the summers of 2019 and 2021.

In October, 2019, The Table of Los Fresnos Lutheran Church gave away 300 pumpkins at the Los Fresnos Little League field. More than 700 from the community showed up for the Los Fresnos Pumpkin Patch, not only for the free pumpkins, but good food, bouncy houses, games, photo booth, and a free movie.
