What does the Committee do?

The Committee on Young Women (COYW) was established to help encourage and organize the young women of the LWML. The committee establishes and reviews guidelines and forms for the Young Women program in accordance with directions from the national LWML and LWML Texas District. Committee Mission Statement

The Committee of Young Women's mission is to educate and inspire young women to strengthen their relationship with their Savior Jesus Christ. It is our hope to establish a positive, joyful, and insightful convention experience for the 2018 Waco YWRs. As the Zone YWRs return to their zones, we hope that they feel equipped to encourage and recruit other young women from their zone to join the LWML.
DON'T LET ANYONE LOOK DOWN ON YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE YOUNG, BUT SET AN EXAMPLE FOR THE BELIEVERS IN SPEECH, IN LIFE, IN LOVE, IN FAITH AND IN PURITY. — 1 TIMOTHY 4:12

Meet your 2017-2019 District Young Women Repersentatives

Tiffany Mitchell

Texas District YWR South

Tiffany is from the Rio Grande Valley Zone with Immanuel Lutheran in Mercedes being her home church. She became involved in the LWML after being invited to the 2013 Fall Zone Rally by her society President. Tiffany saw an opportunity to serve, to bring the word of the Lord to others, and to teach her daughter how to do the same. While serving as the DYWR, she hopes to increase the number of YWRs throughout the state to help ensure the continued growth and success of the LMWL. Tiffany is the mother to an incredible 5 year old and together they reside in Harlingen.

Favorite Bible Verse I can do all this through Him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

Amanda Hankemeier

Texas District YWR North
Amanda is a teacher, wife, and mother. She has been teaching elementary grades for the last 17 years. Fourteen of those years were in Lutheran schools. She has been a wife to Kurtis for the last ten years and adopted her sweet son, Ethan, in 2015. Amanda enjoys reading and spending time with her family. She joined LWML to meet women and has served her zone as secretary and Young Woman Representative. She hopes to create new opportunity for ladies at her church and in her zone.

Favorite Bible Verse For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
