Save this date for the 2027 4-Zone Retreat to be held at the beautiful Spiritual Retreat Center near Victoria.
Our presenter will be renowned LCMS author and speaker Christina Hergenrader.
Cost: $100 for both days, $75 for Saturday only.
Hosted this year by the Mid Coast Zone. All LWML ladies are welcome!
News of Past Events:
TEXAS DISTRICT CONVENTION
Twelve women and two teens from our Mid Coast Zone attended the LWML Texas District Convention in Austin, June 11–13, 2026. We were pleased that the mission grant we sponsored, "ASL Jesus Signs Workshops" received the most number of votes. We pray the Lord will bless the work of this grant in Becky Jungklaus' ministry to bring the saving gospel of Jesus to the deaf community. We thank the Lord for the opportunity to support this grant and for all those He used to prepare it for convention.
SPRING RALLY
Thirty were in attendance at our Spring Event held in the beautiful, newly renovated fellowship hall at St. John's in Wharton on April 18, 2026, under the theme "Running Your God-given Race." We were treated to two inspirational speakers. The main speaker was local author Shannon Haltom who spoke about her book Training Ground. Amber Barbee spoke about the ministry to which our ingathering items of food and laundry supplies would go, i.e. The Homestead Pioneer Pantry, which benefits students on Wharton County Junior College campuses. We thank the ladies in Wharton for their kind hospitality and delicious lunch.
2026 SPRING RETREAT
Over 30 women attended our 4-Zone spring retreat at the peaceful Spiritual Retreat Center near Victoria, on March 6–7, 2026 under the theme "Always Changing...Always the Same." Guest presenter was Texas native Sharon Daugherty, wife of a pastor now serving in Kansas. Sharon has experienced much change in her life - over 40 moves, deaths of siblings, children, and grandchildren. She imparted many words of wisdom helpful in our changing lives and even more Scripture promises to comfort and remind us of God's unchanging love for us in Christ.
