Adventure Woods Day Camp Outreach, Camp Lone Star, Tomball

20,000.00

Camp Lone Star is looking to expand undeveloped acreage at the Pines Campus in Tomball. Adventure Woods, a Christ-centered day camp program with classic camping activities, is scheduled to launch in the summer of 2025, reaching 1,500 campers in a year. This mission grant will be used to purchase recreation equipment and challenge course materials. 

Almighty God, You created this world and everything in it. We praise You for being the Creator and Sustainer of adventure. Thank You for the environment You provide in Your creation for youth to experience adventure while learning about their strengths and abilities. Bless the Adventure Woods Day Camp, that it may bring the advantages of being in Your creation to the youth who attend day camp. Grant that the day camp will provide intentional, adventurous, and Christ-centered experiences to the surrounding community. In Jesus’ almighty name we pray. Amen.

Cleared acres
A few acres have already been cleared in preparation for the development of the Adventure Woods.

Archery
Archery reminds us of how often we "miss the mark" because of sin and teaches us to see our need for God's abundant grace.

Basketball helps kids develop their communication and social skills.

Obstacle course
These types of obstacle courses teach children to overcome their fears and lean into their faith as they trust in God.

Rock wall
Climbing a rock wall reminds us to rest in the promises of God's Word, that He directs our steps, and that He catches us in His loving arms when we fall.

Group with slingshots
Slingshots ties to the Biblical story of David and Goliath, reminding us that God is greater than any "giants" we face in our life.
