A 2019 LCMS study found that only one in five baptized children remained active in the church into young adulthood, revealing a significant gap in faith formation within homes. Changing family structures and generational shifts highlight the need for Christian resources that serve diverse households. Technology is also reshaping how youth explore questions of faith, with many turning to artificial intelligence for answers they hesitate to ask adults. Concordia Center for the Family (CCF) aims to strengthen partnerships between homes and congregations in Texas by equipping families for lifelong discipleship. Trained CCF Family Discipleship Facilitators will bring theology, skills, and attitudes that support dynamic family discipleship, engaging children for life. This mission grant will fund facilitator training, including registration, facilities, supplies, and travel for CCF trainers.

Heavenly Father, You command us to joyfully “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19a). May this mission grant be used to provide congregations in Texas with resources and training for faith development through the Family Discipleship Training program. We pray that the Concordia Center for the Family will connect with church leaders, congregations, and families to promote lifelong discipleship. As they serve across Texas, let their efforts inspire parents, encourage children, and renew congregations in their shared calling to pass on the faith. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, we pray. Amen.
