College is a formative season when young adults explore identity, truth, and purpose, often while feeling disconnected from familiar support systems. University Lutheran Chapel meets this need through relational ministry built around a dedicated 15‑passenger van. Serving American and international students at Texas A&M University, the RELLIS Campus, and Blinn College–Bryan, the van becomes a practical expression of Christ’s love. Many students who may never attend a church service are willing to join outings, where travel time naturally creates space for games, stories, and genuine connection. These shared moments open doors to meaningful gospel conversations. The van functions as a mobile ministry setting where pastors and student leaders can listen, pray, encourage, and share Christ authentically. This mission grant will support the purchase of a van.

Gracious and merciful God, Heavenly Father, You call your church to bear witness to Christ in every place and season of life. We thank You for the students You have gathered from many nations and backgrounds, and for the opportunity to serve them in love. Bless this ministry and the tools used for it, especially the van that will carry students safely and in fellowship. As conversations are shared and friendships formed, open hearts to hear your Word, comfort those who are lonely, and draw seekers to the truth of the Gospel. Grant wisdom to pastors and leaders, boldness to confess Christ, and trust in your gracious work alone. All this we ask through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Mobile Ministry Van
Winter Retreat at Camp Lone Star is a time of fellowship and encouragement in Christ as students return to campus for the spring semester. This was the event that brought a new student into the Chapel, who now serves as the Lutheran Student Fellowship President.

Mobile Ministry Van
International students took a van trip to Galveston to grow in friendship and to have fun together away from the stress of university life. Trips like these are often a student’s first exposure to the Gospel and Christian community.

Mobile Ministry Van
Chapel students cleaning the van, purchased with LWML support in 2001. Our pastors and students have stewarded this gift faithfully!

Mobile Ministry Van
Students from Nigeria lead international and American students in worship songs at the International Student Welcome Night. Songs and scripture are in both English and in languages representing students from around the world so that they can hear the Gospel in their own language.

Mobile Ministry Van
Chapel students took the van to serve at Habitat for Humanity and share God’s love with neighbors in need.

Mobile Ministry Van
Lutheran Student Fellowship takes the van on a leadership retreat each summer to grow in their faith and relationships with each other as they prepare to lead their peers in Bible study, fellowship, and events throughout the year.

Mobile Ministry Van
Chapel students drove to volunteer at National Youth Gathering in New Orleans. This was unfortunately too far of a trip for the current Chapel van to take.
